Reproduced with pip 26 in a virtual environment: contradictory requirements, a later install downgrading a dependency and leaving FastAPI incompatible with Pydantic 1, pip check output, yanked and missing versions, and venv detection.

pip says "Cannot install X and Y because these package versions have conflicting dependencies", or a package breaks after another install. Read the resolver output, use pip check, and make sure pip belongs to the right Python.
